Under the supervision of the Store Manager, the Museum Store Assistant Manager/Sales Lead serves to direct and execute daily operating functions of the Museum Store. The Museum Store Assistant Manager/Sales Lead provides support in the areas of customer service, staff management, mail order fulfillment, online store maintenance, merchandising and serves as a back-up in the areas of financial reporting and buying.

Job Duties

  • Assists Store Manager in responsibility for the store
  • Replenishes merchandise in a timely manner and monitor floor stock levels to ensure the store is properly stocked at all times
  • Executes floor moves, merchandising directives, display maintenance and general recovery (i.e., folding, straightening, etc.) as directed
  • Maintains an awareness of all promotions and advertisements; execute merchandise placement for sales and other promotional events 
  • Participates in year-end inventory
  • Helps customers by providing information; answering questions; obtaining merchandise requested; completing payment transactions; preparing merchandise for delivery
  • Ensures all pricing, signage, and displays are correct at all times
  • Enforces all policies and proceedures; including health, safety, and security
  • Manages and controls shrink
  • Performs all duties as directed by supervisor
  • Coordinates with Education Staff and VSR during group shopping and ensure adequate staffing
  • Serves as a back-up for weekly account reports
  • Manages the Online Store, Including but not limited to: Adding, editing and managing online inventory. Photo Editing, Order processing and shipping
  • Evening and weekend availability
